Reiki - A simple and effective way to promote health.
Cindy Stephens' Biography
After raising four children to school age, Cindy decided to go back to school. She wanted to become a teacher and attended Rivier College in Nashua earning her Masters in Elementary Education in 1996. After spending the next year as a long-term sub for the Nashua School District, she was hired by Bicentennial Elementary as a 4th grade teacher. During the next 3 years, she had a lot of fun teaching but also began to suffer from stress/anxiety health issues. She was finding it very difficult to work full time and still maintain the family life as she wanted it, perfect.
Unfortunately, not one of those people that can do things half way, Cindy decided to leave teaching. She needed some way to deal with stress. Reading a newspaper one day, she saw an ad for Reiki instruction. She had no idea what this was, but, it professed to help with stress. Being a teacher, and a person who likes to learn things, Cindy decided to give it a try.
After taking a Reiki I class, she was hooked. It was so interesting and worked well for all the stress. She especially liked the fact that it was a holistic way to better health. Since then, Cindy has taken Reiki II and has joined The New England Reiki Center. With this group she continues to educate herself and to practice Reiki. Cindy finds this to be a lot of fun and very rewarding.
Over the next years, she plans to continue learning and practicing Reiki in the Nashua area. She doesn't know if she will pursue her Reiki Master level but, who knows?
